George Washington
III’s palette of voicing credits grows nearly every day. Since
entering the business, he has voiced television and radio
commercials, non-broadcast narrations, in-store announcements, and
on hold messaging for Disney Casting, Hilton, Wachovia, Bank of
America, Wells Fargo, Verizon, Double Tree, Powells Books, Embassy
Suites, Whole Foods, the Charlotte Bobcats, Opera Carolina, the
Tampa Tribune, the NCAA, EA Sports, Muzak and many others.
George also gets to display his versatility by voicing for
documentaries, such as the Fred Friendly Seminar’s “50 Years after
Brown: The Continuing Challenge” and WTVI-TV's "Hometown
Stories: African Americans' Journey in Charlotte-Mecklenburg." He has also contributed his voice
to the newly opened National Underground Railroad Freedom. He has
also been used on-camera in non-broadcast projects for Wachovia and
Bank of America, as well as a national television ad
campaign for United Parcel Service. He recently voiced the super
agent Lamar Peters in the newly released Madden NFL 2006 video game
from EA Sports.
His customers have spoken highly of his ability to be “quick,
articulate, and expressive,” and “he has a great voice, and can be
both serious and light.”
It was in these non-broadcast projects that George got his start.
After voicing the narration portions of videos, he began working
with local studios in Charlotte, NC to get into the voiceover field.
Since then, he has been busy adding to his portfolio and using his
“great pipes” to give resonance to the many products and projects he
has been involved in.
George is also an operatic baritone, and has appeared in many
productions with Opera Carolina, both as a member of the chorus and
as a principal artist since 1998. In 2004, he returned home to his
native Illinois to appear in a production for the first time in 16
years. A local reviewer in the Charlotte Observer remarked “his
booming voice was thrilling” from a production of Hansel & Gretel
with Opera Carolina in 1999.
George has versatility, focus, and the ability to deliver what you
need; from James Earl Jones-style resonance to rap to opera to your
regular guy. His professionalism and skills are certain to make your
project a success!
He
works with some of the best studios in the Southeast, located in Charlotte, NC, including Concentrix
Music & Sound Design, Jay
Howard Production Audio, and The
Groundcrew.
He is also an experienced industrial video host. If you are interested
